There are many kinds of activities scientists use when studying animals in their natural habitats, like observation, measurement, data recording and organization. For many kinds of animals, researchers need to learn how to identify different species. Scientists who study butterflies need to know how to identify different species to be able to tag them and learn of their migration habits as well as their behavior. In this activity, you will identify the different stages of a butterflies’ life cycle to identify the species.
